Origins — 3 Star Tour Ltd
San Pedro Belize Express Water Taxi Limited (SPBE) originated as an extension of 3 Star Tour Ltd, a tender company that transported passengers from cruise ships to the mainland. Recognizing the growing demand for reliable water taxi service, the directors decided to invest in vessels for local ferry operations.
First Vessel Launched
A single vessel was launched as an express run between Belize City and San Pedro. This marked the birth of the "San Pedro Belize Express Water Taxi Limited" name and the start of a new chapter in Belize water transportation.
Caye Caulker Route Launched
After considerable work and dedication to earn the confidence of Caye Caulker residents, SPBE officially launched service to "La Isla Cariñosa." This expansion was a pivotal moment that established SPBE as a multi-route operator.
First International Route — Chetumal, Mexico
SPBE initiated the first international water taxi run between Chetumal, Mexico and Belize, expanding beyond domestic waters and serving the rising tourism market with cross-border connectivity.

Today SPBE operates 37 daily runs between Belize City, Caye Caulker, and San Pedro with a fleet of 14 vessels (ranging from 45 to 120 passengers) and over 60 dedicated employees. Recent improvements include onboard lavatories and single bucket seats on several vessels for enhanced passenger comfort.
